1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using SovaTalk (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, whether browsing as a guest or using a registered account.

2. Service description

SovaTalk is a live video platform that connects individuals seeking emotional support with expert listeners who stream publicly and offer private one-on-one sessions. SovaTalk is a technology platform only — it is not a licensed healthcare provider, mental health clinic, or crisis intervention service.

Nothing on SovaTalk constitutes medical advice, clinical diagnosis, or therapeutic treatment. Experts on SovaTalk are independent individuals; they are not employees or agents of SovaTalk.

3. User responsibilities

By using SovaTalk, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.
  • Use the platform only for lawful purposes.
  • Treat all other users — experts and seekers — with respect.
  • Not record, screenshot, or otherwise capture private session content without explicit consent from all parties.
  • Be at least 18 years of age to use the Service.

4. Expert responsibilities

Experts who use SovaTalk to offer support agree to additional obligations:

  • Represent your qualifications, background, and credentials honestly. Misrepresentation is grounds for immediate removal.
  • Operate within your scope — if a situation requires emergency or clinical intervention beyond your capacity, refer to 988, 911, or a licensed provider.
  • Appear on video during all live sessions. Audio-only sessions are not permitted.
  • Never exploit, manipulate, or take financial advantage of vulnerable individuals.
  • Comply with all applicable laws regarding your professional practice, including licensing requirements in your jurisdiction.
  • Accept that SovaTalk may remove you from the platform for violations of these terms or community guidelines, with or without prior notice.

5. Prohibited conduct

The following conduct is prohibited on SovaTalk and may result in account termination and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement:

  • Harassment, threats, or abusive behavior directed at any user.
  • Impersonation of any person, organization, or credential.
  • Distribution of content that sexualizes minors in any form.
  • Attempting to circumvent platform security or access controls.
  • Using automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service.
  • Soliciting payment outside the platform in ways designed to evade platform terms.
  • Any conduct that violates applicable local, national, or international law.

6. Disclaimers

Not a medical or crisis service. SovaTalk is not a licensed healthcare provider. The Service does not provide medical, psychiatric, or psychological diagnosis or treatment. Nothing on this platform should be construed as such. If you are in a mental health crisis, please contact 988 or emergency services.

No warranties. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular expert will be available at any given time.

Third-party conduct. SovaTalk is not responsible for the conduct of experts or other users. We provide a platform but cannot guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of any session.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SovaTalk and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages for emotional distress, loss of data, or reliance on information obtained through the platform.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were last updated.
