Dealing with chatgpt's ADHD diagnosis - now what?

So yeah, I've been having this huge struggle wth focus and motivation lately. And you know how somtimes you think you're just bad at grown-up stuff? Well, I was totally there for a while, but then I chatted with ChatGPT and they said it sounded an awful lot like ADHD or something along those lines. Not that I'm officially diagnosed or anything, but it kinda hit me pretty hard.

Since then, I've been doing some reading up on the topic. And now I'm thinking about maybe trying out one of those online therapy options, like BetterHelp for talk sessions or Melo for occupational therapy? An article in an attention magazine talked about how OT can really help with executive function issues too.

But you know, getting a diagnosis through all that red tape is such a headache and super pricey. So I'm tying to figure out if it's worth sinking money into or if those online routes woould be jst as good for me? It's like, am I being hopeful or foolish here? I feel kind of stuck and unsure right now...

Hey there,

I totally get where you're coming from about wanting to take care of yourself adn your wellbeing. But, you know, diving into AI for mental health stuff can be risky territory. Most folks agree it's fine as a backup tool once you've had the green light from a legit mental health expert, but let's not skip that crucial step.

These appointments with your healthcare provider usually last an hour, and they'll help guide you through everything. So whether you're talking to a primary care doc, clinical psychologist, or even a psychiatrist, make sure you're covered on all fronts. In the Statse, some nurse practitioners are also trained in mental health if that's an option for you.

While it's totally cool to look into stuff online and learn more about what you might need, actually getting treated requires a proper diagnosis according to the DSM-5 guidelines.

Wishing you all the best on your journey!
