FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions about SovaTalk, answered plainly.

Is Sova free to use?

Browsing the platform and watching any public expert stream is completely free — no account required. Private 1-on-1 video sessions are offered on terms set by each individual expert. Some offer free sessions; others set their own rate. Check an expert's profile before requesting a session.

Can I pay with Bitcoin or crypto?

Yes. Sova accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major cryptocurrencies for adding tokens to your balance. This means you can fund and use private sessions without linking a bank card or revealing any financial identity. It's one of the most anonymous ways to access emotional support online.

Can I talk to a girl online here?

Yes. Many experts on Sova are women. You can browse the live streams right now and filter by who's online. Each expert's profile shows their name, background, and current availability. If a female listener is live, you can join their room immediately — no appointment needed.

I'm dealing with work stress and burnout — can Sova help?

Absolutely. Work stress, burnout, career anxiety, toxic workplaces, and job-related overwhelm are among the most common topics people bring to Sova. Experts on the platform are experienced in helping people talk through these issues, gain perspective, and feel heard. You don't have to solve anything — sometimes just being listened to helps.

Is it completely anonymous?

As a guest, yes — you have no account, no profile, and nothing tied to your identity. If you create an account, we only ask for a display name (which doesn't need to be real) and an email. Your information is never shared with experts or other users. For maximum anonymity, pay with crypto and use a guest session.

I'm going through a breakup — can someone help?

Yes. Heartbreak, breakups, divorce, and relationship endings are deeply painful and often feel impossible to process alone. Sova has listeners who specialize in relationship support — people who won't judge, won't rush you, and will genuinely listen. You can talk about what happened, how you're feeling, or just vent. No advice unless you want it.

Can I talk about anxiety or depression?

Yes — these are the most common reasons people use Sova. Whether it's generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, low mood, or depression, our listeners are here for it. This is not a replacement for clinical therapy or medication, but talking to a real, empathetic person can genuinely help you feel less alone and more grounded.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Sova is on-demand. If an expert is live right now, you can join their room instantly — no scheduling, no waiting list, no calendar. Private 1-on-1 sessions start when you request them and the expert accepts. Some experts may prefer advance notice, which they'll state on their profile.

Are the listeners real people, not AI?

Yes, 100% real humans. Sova has no AI chat, no bots, and no automated responses. Every person you speak with is a real human being who has signed up as an expert on the platform. You're always talking to a live person.

How private are the 1-on-1 sessions?

Private sessions are exactly that — private. Only you and the expert can see and hear each other. Sessions are not recorded by Sova. The expert's room is closed during a private session and no other users can join. What you share in a private session stays between you and your listener.

What topics can I talk about?

Anything that's weighing on you emotionally. Common topics include: anxiety, depression, stress, work problems, burnout, relationship issues, loneliness, grief, family conflict, self-esteem, identity, trauma, heartbreak, fear of the future, existential questions, LGBTQ+ issues, and more. There's no topic that's off-limits as long as it's within our community guidelines.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is needed to browse or watch live streams. You only need an account to request a private session, save session history, or apply as an expert. Signing up takes under a minute and we don't require a real name.

What if I'm in a mental health crisis?

Sova is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you're in a mental health crisis, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) — available 24/7. For non-emergency emotional support right now, Sova's live experts are available. Please see our Safety page for more resources.

I feel lonely and like nobody understands me — is this the right place?

Yes. Loneliness is one of the most painful experiences, and it's exactly what Sova was built for. Sometimes you don't need therapy — you just need to talk to a real human who will actually listen without judgment. That's what our experts do.

How does a private video session work?

Find an expert who's live, join their room, and send them a private session request. If they accept, you're both moved into a private room — just the two of you on video. Sessions run per-minute at the rate the expert sets. You can end at any time. Your token balance is charged as the session runs.
