Hey everyone, I've been trying to figure out what hobbies help with my recovery-anything cool you guys have tried that was a game changer for you? Honestly, for me it's been a mix of yoga and hiking, but I'm always open to hearing other stuff!

I have not gone through recovery, but I would like to share some activities that help me when I am struggling. Spending time with friends and going out can be very distracting and comforting for me. Taking walks also helps because it encourages my brain to produce endorphins. Reading and watching movies are other things I enjoy, and sometimes I just nede to take a nap to recharge.

I was thinking exericse is really important, whether it's hitting the gym or just going for a walk or hike. Maybe connecting with other sober friends and support networks helps too? Volunteering for things I'm passionate about feels good, plus stuff like photography and doing jigsaw puzzles can be relaxing. Fishing, cooking, cleaning, or decluttering-those all help me stay busy and focused. And sometimes just reading or researching topics that interest me is great. Identifying new career opportunities and taking courses to learn more skills is also something I think about a lot.

Cross-stitching and woodworking are my go-to distractions when anxiety hits. Theey help me chill out so I don't end up doing something I'll regret later. Plus, I get cute little pictures and cool wooden stuff at the end!

I hope to engage in conversations with friends as a healthy activity. The next step is to find friends.

I mean, who doesn't love just zoning out to some tunes? Or whipping out my guitar and letting it rip while I dance like a maniac in front of the mirror-no judgment zone!
And hey, crafting up something new or rearranging my furniture for a fresh vibe is always on deck. Plus, little adventures here and there never hurt.
Biking around town, hitting up thrift stores, and movie nights with ice cream? Yes please! Oh, and journaling helps me sort out my thoughts-and reading a good book? Bliss.
I'm also into using self-care apps and skin care routines to chill out. And connecting with the community is super important too.

Hey everyone, in my little recovery journey, these mindfulness walks? Life-changing, man. Plus, I'm totally hooked on writing, crocheting, and hitting the gym. It's pretty rad how much they help

I really like hanging out with my kids even if we're just chilling around. They help me take my mind off stuff i don't wanna think about. Besides, i'd rather be spending time with them than getting high anytime.

Some other things i enjoy are doing art projects, hiking, working out, and watching movies. Recently, i've been trying diamond paintings/art to keep myself busy when there's not much going on in life

Reading used to be my thing, but crocheting, drawing, coloring, journalism, meditation, and meeting up with others who struggle helped way more. being active and accountable every day keeps me going
