Grew up anxious and neglected. Had chronic depersonalization since 14. Anyone had it 24/7 for years? Docs don't get it's not just trauma.

I understand how you feel, and I experience the same issue. It puzzles me sometimes because nothing particularly dramatic has happened in my life either. What helps me is spending time in nature and going for walks. The beauty of nature can be very soothing.

i think taking a walk in nature or just sitting otuside to enjoy the breeze could be really nice. it doesn't have to take long, maybe just five minutes or even shorter. getting some fresh air i think would definitely help. hope you find that helpful, much love!

Hey there, I sort of stumbled upon the depersonalization thing recently. I think Ive had it for a long time, maybe decades. There's not much info out there that really helps, so I was wondering if you could share any insights or experiences with it? Maybe something from an article or someone else who dealt with it? Anything would be super helpful. I've never met anyone who actually deals with this before. It's been pretty lonely dealing with it on my own. Hope everything's going well for you.

I had it for over thirty years, and it was really tough. It felt like I wasn't connected to my surroundings at all, kind of numb to everything-it was terrifying. It affected me day and night, nothing seemed to help. After my dad died, who was a major source of neglect and emotional abuse, the depersonalization went away. He played such a big role in making things hard for me, which is sad to say. I still get occasional episodes, but my psychiatrist explained it's my body's way of protecting me from triggers that remind me of past traumas. I hope this helps-I really know how awful it can be, and you're right, if you haven't experienced it yourself, it's so hard to understand. I hope you find someone who can help you work through it

I recently came across the term depersonalization, and I think I may have experienced this condition since I was around 10 years old. If you are still active on this platform, could you please share your thoughts on this? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Take care and stay well.
