Memory and focus troubles all of a sudden

You know, I've been feeling pretty off lately. Like, my memory has just gone down the drain, and concentrating? Forget it. So a while back-about three-and-a-half years ago-I went to see a doctor because of all these issues. She said it was anxiety, but that didn't really feel right to me. I felt okay for a bit after that, but then about four months ago, things got worse again.

Now I can barely focus or even muster up the motivation to study at uni. It's weird how I forget simple words in my own language and just can't seem to put sentences together proeprly. Oh, and during conversations now, I totally zone out-I used to be really chatty and social back when I was still a talkative butterfly, you know what I mean? Today's worst yet-when I went to the tailor, I completely forgot about my clothes!

It's getting so bad that I'm starting to wonder if there might be something more serious going on, like maybe even a brain tumor. But then again, I don't want to overreact and sound paranoid.

To make things clearer, since that diagnosis years ago, I've really tried to clean up my act. No drinking at all, no smoking-hell, I haven't touched those vices for ages-and I hit the gym regularly. Also, limited social media time-three hours max per day-and keep away from headphones most of the time. Plus, eating healthy and getting plenty of sleep-I've been sleeping up to 10 or 12 hours a day even during Christmas.

So, what do you think? Any suggestions on where I should go next with this? Sorry if my post has any errors-trying hard here.

Get a second opinion. Could be dementia or Alzheimer's

I have also experienced significant struggles with poor memory throughout my life due to various mental health issues. At 58 years old, I've come to understand that conditions like depression and anxiety can impact memory negatively, as can certain medications intended to alleviate these symptoms.

Don't worry too much, though-panic itself can worsen memory problems. As another person mentioned earlier, it might be beneficial to seek a second opinion. Many doctors are quite busy and may overlook issues if they don't appear immediately critical or life-threatening.

You said you're studying right now. Even without feeling traditionally stressed, academic pressures can still take their toll on your mental state and memory.

I recommend getting another medical evaluation and proceeding from there. Additionally, discussing your concerns with friends and family could provide valuable insights since they observe you from different perspectives and might offer objective feedback about any changes in your behavior or demeanor.

Wishing you the best of luck.
