Yeah, I've been on this stuff for a while now-mostly to tame the nerve pain. Chronic pain isn't fun, let me tell ya.
Yeah, same here. The grogginess is a real drag. I'm on 75mg twice daily and feel like a zombie half the time. Not sure if it's helping or hindering at this point. My back pain is just relentless, and being bedridden for 19 months makes everything feel so... hopeless sometimes.
i've been on lyrica for like 10 yrs it helps with my nerve pain but i stp'd takin it durng da day cuz i couldnt funk after takin it. jst take it at night now
Thank you for the response. Did you reduce your dosage, or did you continue taking the full dose before bed? Did u need to taper off gradually, and were there any withdrawal symptoms?
So, the doc told me to take 100 mg two times a day. But honestly, I cut it back and now only do one dose at night-100 mg for me. If my pain is really bad though, I might pop it earlier so I can sleep better. No withdrawal symptoms here either-I think maybe it's because there's still some of the medicine floating around in my system. A couple times while traveling, I spaced out and skipped a day or two, but other than tossing and turning at night, no biggies.
How long did you take it before stopping? Scared of withdrawal too.
It was a long time ago, so I don't recall how long I had been on the morning dose before stopping. You could give it a try and see how it works for you. Since you have the pills, you can always return to your usual dose if you feel it's necessary. Honestly, 75 mg is quite a low dosage.
So, I was originally on 500mg a day-250mg both morning and night-but my doc cut it down to 75mg twice daily when they noticed some kidney issues popping up. And hey, I don't take it every single day because you could end up in this weird cycle where your body gets too used to it or something. Some folks feel super drowsy on lower doses, but for me, it's not as bad since I'm now at a much lighter level
I was wondering if they changed your dose from 250 right to 75, or did you have to taper down first? And how often do you take it? Also, I'm a bit confused about what you meant by it could end in a bad cycle-can you explain that more? Do you get any withdrawal symptoms between doses? Does the nerve pian come back when you're not on it?
i was on pregabs abt 15 yrs ago & had similar probs as u. if i knew back then wht coming off'd b, i wldn't have tuoched them. took 'em for 5 yrs tho & they helped a lot. my advice: stay clear of 'em. btw, i was a heroin addict for abt 25 yrs & did 3 detoxes. 2 cold turkey & omg that was bad. the 3rd, i went off methadone cold turkey from taking like 50ml/day. that was way worse than both herion cold turkeys combined. but whn it comes to pregabs? seriously, megring those 2 detox experiences with the pregab cold turkey is nothing compared to just the pregab stuff. felt like a bus hit & parked on me for 7mos. no sleep at all. never again & if u can avoid them, pls do b/c coming off is v hard. wouldn't wish that 7mo ordeal on anyyone... p.s. sorry it's so long.
Thank you for your response. I have been dealing with this issue for several months now due to pain from my central nervous system. I am also struggling to recover from open heart surgery.
Hey, I totally feel for Headsmashed on this one. Pregabalin didn't do much for my nerve pain either, but man, the withdrawal is a baest. My doctors were like, "No worries, no side effects," but they never mentioned how addictive it can be. Now nobody wants to prescribe it because of how problematic it is. If you find it's not helping, ease off super slowly ovver months-trust me, making that gradual transition will save your sanity and health in the long run.
