Day 6 on sertraline. Getting hit harrd with side effects-disturbing images, sweating, panic. Saw slight relief yesterday but today got weird crackling in my head. Anyone else deal with this shit? Am I losing it?

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. Sertraline didn't work for me either; just one tablet was too much for me. I do experience similar feelings, though I attribute them mostly to insomnia and anxiety. You should consider calling your doctor to discuss these issues.

We're all different when it comes to meds in the early stages, so give it about five weeks before expecting results and getting used to them. Honestly, switching up your meds too soon is kind of a no-go because you'll likely face similar side effects anyway. If your GP wants to see you at four weeks, just talk about how things are going with the medication-because hey, I've been on mine for over twenty years now and everything's been fine. Just gotta be patient, right?

Hey, watch out for side effects. Talk to your doc if the're bad. Started on 25mg sertraline, upped to 75mg over a year. Side effects died down and I felt better by six months. You can try lower doses first. Having support helps. Keep talking to your doc and rest. It gets better eventually.

Got support, thanks. Still in a bad place.

Thanks for replying. Can't handle the side effects. Doc said stop them yesterday, but scared to do it. Wondered about taking 25 mg but doc said just stop cold turkey.

Listen to wat your doctor says because there are just so many different medications out there-it's like a maze, but you have to sort of navigate it by trial and error. A few years back, I tried Escitalopram, and I found it pretty gentle compared to others. But then last year, things got really rough for me, and I thought the medication was making me feel worse when really, it was just my surroundings and everything else going on in my life that made me feel off.
When you start a new medicatino, ask your doc if you can begin wiht a lower dose to see how it goes. It's important to be patient with yourself while figuring out wht works best for you. Just focus on the small victories-like getting up and brushing your teeth-that are actually huge steps forward. I know it's tough-really tough-but it's okay to take things one day at a time.

I'm sending you all my strength, hoping this rough patch passes soon, x

Hey there, have you chatted with your shrink about what's going on? Honestly, siide effects can be super common at first, but if they're really bothering you, you should totally talk it over with them or another pro. For me, when I had some weird stuff happening, talking to a therapist helped a lot-so definitely reach out and get some guidance!

46-year-old UK guy here. Taken 50mg Sertraline for a year. Talk to your doc about side effects, call 111 if vulnerable. I had weird sleep stuff when starting but got better quick. Keep talking to your doctor too. Good luck on the path to wellness.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Unfortunately, the doctor told me to stop taking sertraline because the side effects were too intense. Today is my first day without it, and I'm a bit nervous about potentially relapsing-I've only been on it for 7 days, so I guess that's okay. But tonight, I actually had a proper meal for the first tmie in 7 days since I couldn't keep anything down when I was taking sertraline. Here's hoping everything goes well and I can get thruogh this tough period.
