Struggling To Cope Right Now

May 31

I am a 39-year-old man.

My two eldest children are dealing with cystic fibrosis and type 1 diabetes. My wife is bedridden due to severe anxiety and depression, and my elderly, frail father also needs constant care from me. Additinoally, my youngest daughter is homeschooled because of bullying she experienced at school.

I have a skin condition and breathing problems that make it challenging to handle all these responsibilities. I am managing the care for four people with complex health issues while homeschooling my 13-year-old daughter.

The diabetic children need constant monitoring throughout the night, which leaves me without proper sleep. This situation has been ongoing for years, and I have no external support to rely on. I feel like I am reaching a breaking pooint from all this stress and physical strain. I don't know how much longer I can keep going.

Contact your local council urgently to request a Care Needs Assessment. You should not have to face this difficulty alone.

Hey! What part of the world are you in? If it's the UK, honestly, talk to your docs and see if they can give you some extra support. They usually know what's up and can help point you in the right direction-trust me, been there.

Thank you for your understanding. You clearly have a lot on your plate, managing everyone's needs while dealing with your own responsibilities. It's important to seek support when you need it.

When I was ill with a barin tumour, my husband found caring for me very overwhelming. He reached out to the Carers' Trust, which might have a local branch in your area. They can offer information on how to access help and resources. Additionally, check if your GP has a social prescriber who can connect you with services and support groups.

It's crucial that you also discuss your own well-being with your doctor. They may be able to reassure you about the impact of your actions and provide further assistance.

I hope things improve soon for both you and those around you.

u r not unhelpful at all ur family devotion deserves a medal tho. uve been handling everything so far but now u gotta take care of urself too or else stress will make u sick and u wont be able to help anyone anymore. reaching out for support is gud. since i'm in aus, the others can point u in the right direction.

all the best

I think it's really important to talk to a GP for some support. Bullying is just awful, you konw? Maybe tell your kid to stand up for themselves if others aren't helping them out. The head teacher might be the best person to contact about this stuff. I've been dealing with pre-diabetes again too, so I get how tough things can feel. Just remember, even though it may not seem like it right now, you're doing your very best and all you can do.
