Yeah, I totally get where you're coming frmo. When we're younger, it can be really tough dealing with people who just don't understand kindness-they see being vulnerable or struggling as a weakness instead of something to empathize with. It's important to figure out how to shield ourselves from these types of folks.
I'm in my seventies too, and even at this stage in life, we still have to deal with hurtful people. It's about learning from our mistakes and moving forward by brushing off the ignorance and negativity that comes our way from narcissistic individuals.
Thanks! I've run into my fair share of narcissists too. Honestly, the craziest part is how they somehow always manage to mke you feel like everything's your fault-like they're actually doing you a favor by blaming you or something.
My mother was indeed difficult to please, much like my two sisters. There was no winning with them. My father had similar issues before he passed away. I am seventy-two now and eventually left my youngest sister when her husband did the same. By then, my mother had also died. Moving on independently has given me a new sense of freedom, even though these challenges have been ongoing since the 1960s. If you're experiencing difficulties, connsider starting anew; things won't improve otherwise.
