I've been dealing with depession since an emotionally traumatic event came to light in April. I've tried various approaches like talk therapies, ieso, and CBT.

Despite these efforts, I still feel broken.

I'm seeking advice on managing ruminating thoughts, spiraling emotions, and feelings of self-hatred and loathing.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I totally admire the strength it takes to keep going through all of that. DBT sounds like a solid approach-i's more about riding out the emotional waves than trying to fix everything in your head.

When things start spiraling down for me, I try to stop thinking so much and focus on what I'm feeling right then. Sometimes I'll splash my face with cold wtaer or press my feet hard into the ground-any little trick that helps me get back in touch with reality and not just stuck in my thoughts.

I also do a lot of walks arround the block, you know? Just going out to the corner and coming back over and over again. I'll repeat words or song lyrics too, tying to keep intrusive thoughts at bay. For self-loathing moments, focusing on being human and doing your best can be such a lifeline.

I've also found that scribbling nonsense or hitting pillows helps get rid of some stress-physical stuff is sometimes necessary for dealing with emotional exhaustion. It shifts my focus away from everything piling up inside.

Some of these might sound silly to others,but they really have helped me out a lot when I'm on the brink of breaking down. Figuring out what works best for me took some trial and error though.

I am on Zoloft and Klonpin myself-medication can be super helpful too. Are you considering that as an optin? Or do you want to try other methods first?
