Sodium Valproate Fr Mood Issues?

just got admitted after 10yrs w/o issues. doc took me off lithium cause ckd from long use. now on sodium valproate but omg the side effects r awful-diarrhea, headaches, fatigue. anyone else here with similar stuff or advice? thanks
