Hey everyone, I'm going through some tough times with my mental health and I'm not really sure where to start. My doctor suggested looking into something called the Wellbeing Group, saying it might be helpful, but I'm still unsure about what steps to take next.

Hey there, bless you. Totally get where you're coming from.

I was wondering, are you based in the UK? I just found out I have high-grade 3 anxiety and depression after waiting two whole months for a phone assessment from Birmingham Healthy Minds. Not sure if they're widespread across the country though-maybe check Google or something if you've got internet access at home?

They told me I need the highest level of counseling but it could take up to nine months, which is pretty rough. Everywhere in the NHS seems to be struggling with mental health support these days.

If things ever get really tough and you feel suicidal, please call the Samaritans or dial 999 if it's an emergency. Or try reaching out to a friend or family member if possible.

They gave me this course called Silver Cloud-got the app too but not sure if I neeed a referral to use it properly?

It's hard to avoid worrying all the time, I know exactly how that feels. Has your doctor suggested any medication? Used to be on sertraline but stopped working and gave me heartburn, so now I'm on amitriptyline. Been on it for six weeks now, and it does help me sleep a bit longer; think it might start kicking in eventually.

You're not alone with this-let me know if you ever need to chat more privately. Linda x

I live in Glasgow, Scotland. My doctor recently increased the dosage of my medication after trying a lower dose earlier, which wasn't effective. I am currently taking tablets as prescribed.

That's good to hear. I used to take 50 mg of sertraline, then increased it to 100 mg, which worked wel for several years until last year. Now I'm trying amitriptyline, but it makes me very sleepy. So I'll be seeing the doctors again this week. It's a process of trial and error.

My doc suggested trying the well-being stuff, they said there are tons of folks I could chat with - honestly, it feels like a good idea for me.
