Need encouragement to proceed
For over five years, I've been interested in starting Historical European Martial Arts. Despite not knowing much about it, I want to learn because it seems like an enjoyable activity that could benefit various aspects of my lfe. Tomorrow, a HEMA instructor offered me the opportunity to observe a beginner's class. Although I need to go, I am very nervous and feel shy and awkward. I am terrified. Can someone help?

What are you afraid of? You can observe a class and often find that breaking down the material makes it easier to learn than expected. There is no obligation or judgment involved in showing interest. I used to talk myself out of going to similar events, and as a result, my opportunities dwindled.
If not now, when? You will find excuses next time if you do not attend. Ultimately, you are the only one responsible if you miss this chance. I hope this motivates you.
