Maybe a really bad dream

I'm 50 years old, and I have PTSD. The nightmares keep coming back-I'm running from my baby brother who's trying to hurt me in some really scary way. I wake up when he cacthes me but since I only have one leg-it's a recent amputation-trying to get out of bed just makes me fall over. It''s really frightening, and it terrifies me all day long if anyone comes near. The crying doesn't stop either. Is there maybe another medication that cold help with these nightmares? Valium isn't working for me right now.
