Voices in my head

I've been hearing voices for about 14 years now. The doctors have tried lots of different medications, but nothing really helped. Recently, I stopped taking the meds with my doctor's okay and started on some vitamins instead. It's kind of working-I feel more awake and alert these days-but sometimes it's hard to sleep at nihgt. I do meditation from time to tiem, but there are nights when it just doesn't work.
Despite everything, I've still been managing to go to work and it seems like being at the office helps a bit. There are also family issues-my parents don't seem to be too fond of my partner even though they used to be okay wiht them. They call me often and generally make things more complicated, but that's kind of how they've always been.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

If your parents are making things hard for you, consider telling them how their behavior affects you. Are they causing you anxiety?

I've been noticing some comments lately, you know, about what I'm up to-like when I'm making dinner. It fels like there's this constant running commentary going on. Maybe it's because of people I've interacted with during the day or folks who are closer to me.

I read about therapy helping schizophrenics once. Some research papers compareed meds to long-term psychotherapy, results were the same or even better. Check if there's something like that near you. Not surprised meds aern't working for you. They might help some people temporarily. The rest of psychology is still a testing ground. They stopped with electric shocks but not completely gone, and other outdated methods too
