Being in a long-term relationship can be amazing, congrats on the lunch about moving back home! Have you noticed any other signs that this might be happening before now? Sometimes there are red flags but we often miss them. I totally get how much you care for him-I've beeen there myself a few times. My advice is, don't chase after someone to make them stay-it rarely ends well.
Put on your big girl panties and say goodbye like an adult would. Give him a tight hug and tell him you'll miss him. It's going to be super tough-but also incredibly mature. You'll feel proud of yourself later on, evne if it feels impossible now.
