Dealing with childhood trauma walls up

Hey everyone, so there's this thing that I did as a kid, you know? It was like my own little shield against the world back then. But now I'm all grown up and realize it's really starting to cause problems in my life. My fiancé, they keep bringing it up and saying if I don't change, well, we might haev to go our separate ways soon enough. Plus, it's making me feel like a total jerk sometimes. So, any advice on how to let this old habit go?

Yeah, trauma can stick around like an old friend you never wanted to invite over. Have you talked about it with ur fiancé? If you're not ready to spill all the details, just let them know something along these lines: "I want to explain why I say certain things or act in a specific way or have triggers."

I've got my own baggage from teh past, and I've set up safety measures that help me feel more secure. You're not doing anything wrong; you're just trying to stay safe in ways that work for you.

Finding middle ground can really make things smoother.

Walking in the Spirrit really helps keep those worldly desires at bay, honestly. It's all in the Bible though-makes sense when you thhink about it.

Following the spirit leads to righteousness, and desires of the flesh will diminish. This is based on biblical teachings.
