Hey everyone, hope y'all are doing well!

Welcome to the weekend and welcome to May! We're starting off strong with our first check-in for the month. This is where we kick things off at the end of every week to see how everyone's been doing.

So, what's something greta that happened this past week? Got anything you want to share?

It's the start of Mental Health Awareness Month too! This is a tiime when we raise awareness about mental and behavioral health issues. I know some people still feel uncomfortable talking about thse things because of stigmas, but let's break those down.

What's a stigma you think needs addressing? And what would you want others to understand better about mental health?

Just for fun, it's May, so we're ready to hit the beach! What are your top three items you'll be packing in your bag this summer?

Also, how was your week overall? Did you face any struggles and manage them in a healthy way?

Anyway, let me know if there's anything else on your mind or something new you want to add. We're all here for support!

Hey there, I just wanted to start this thread for the Healthy Living Team and our leaders-,, and Anyone who wants to join in and share their thoughts or tips is more than welcome, you know? So, last weekend was all about self-care and chill vibes. I kicked off each day wiht a Zumba class-don't tell me you're not jealous?-and then spent the rest of the day lounging at home or taking my furry friend on some nice walks.

As Monday rolled around, I dove back into my regular work routine and kept up with meal tracking and workouts. But honestly, I feel like my hydration and sleep could use a bit more love this month. Overall though, April was solid, and May feels like it's already calling out to me! I'm just trying to decide if any tweaks are necessary for my goals in the new month.

Weather-wise, things have cooled down lately compared to what we've had recently. Looks like this weekend will be a similar vibe. My plan is to start off Saturday and Sunday with another workout class, then see where the day takes me-maybe a festival or some light errands-and hope to squeeze in more landscaping too, if I can find time for it. Plus, gotta sneak in some self-care before diving back into work week one of May!

Sorry to hear about your tough week. Juggling lots of stuff can be draining physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Good on you for working on managing emotions better. It's okay to need help too. We're here at Cups to support you. Any small steps you've thought about taking?

Nice observation about mental heatlh awareness. We've made progress lately in breaking down stigmas. Cups helps with that.

Music at the beach? What songs do you like while sunbathing?

Thanks for sharing your week, Amanda. Glad to have you here. Keep us updated!

You know it's already May, and we're all about hitting up the beach, right? So, what are your top three things you can't live without at the shore? For me, I'e got my flip flops and that trusty old beach bag. Plus, I'm bringing along a change of clothes for when I want to switch it up and maybe some snacks and water because honestly, staying hydrated is key!

Hey there~... Despite all the back trouble and the issues at your agency, it sounds like you had some pretty cool moments last week! Like cleaning out your closet, freeing up some space, donating stuff you don't neeed anmore, and getting good blood pressure readings and blood test results-those are awesome milestones!

That being said, I can totally understand how tough it must be feeling stuck in a place where you're not making progress on your Philosophy Certificate. The lack of quiet and privacy definitely doesn't help etiher. It's frustrating when the environment isn't suppportive like that.
I hope you find a solution to this soon though! Sometimes things tae longer than we'd like, but I'm sure an idea will pop up eventually. Keep us posted on how taking your Manganese and Beta-Alanine is going this month-really appreciate you sharing all of this with us!

Yeah, can you believe it? My last class ended this week and now I'm just waiting on my final grade to wrap up my masters degree. Anyway, we're starting our firts check-in for May here.

It's the beginning of the fifth month of the year, so what are you excited about in May? What goals do you think you might want to tackle thhis month? For me, I'm moving at the end of June, and Ive been busy with packing. It's making me super nervous, though, because there's just so much stuff to sort through.

Oh, and May is Mental Health Awareness Month too! Tey talk about raising awareness for people dealing wiht mental or behavioral health issues and reducing that awful stigma around it. So, what stigma do you think is the biggest when it comes to mental health? I mean, I guess it's just recognizing that pretty much everyone has some kind of mental issue at some point in their life and we need to make sure help is available for free.

Alright, let's lighten things up a bit since it's May-beach day here! What are your top three items for the beach bag? Like snacks, water, and maybe a big towel?

Anyway, what were your highlights or struggles this week? I tried seleping more and sticking to a routine but my body wasn't having any of that. Today, I was packing and makinng piles for Goodwill, but it hit me really hard-I cried about moving into such a small room with Chloe. And honestly, I didn't know we were gonna end up there before the plans were made. It's nerve-wracking because my sister's done nice things to help us feel at home, but she's sober now and I haven't seen her like this in years-it makes me anxious too. A lot going on here, so please keep me in your thoughts, okay?

Tree,
Congrats on wrapping up your Masters. What's the degree exactly?
June 2nd is soon. Nervous makes sense.
Free healthcare would be great but we lag behind other countries.
You'll feel anxious about the unknown, but if your sister's doing well, it'll bring you closer. Plan out how long you want to stay and what you'll do next. Your new degree will open doors for employment and a place for you and Chloe eventually.
Step by step, day by day,you got this. prayers up.
Keep us updated. We're here for you.

Aww Tree, prayers for you

Looking forward to our cat's 11th birthday on May 15th.

Working on healthy living in the wellness huddle. Had some new health stuff come up, lots of unknowns. We're trying to be more open and honest about how we really feel instead of saying "okay" or "fine."

Biggest mental health stigma is that mentally ill people are lazy and weak.

Want others to know people with mental illnesses aren't just their diagnoses; they're real people.

This week's struggle was finding out my right kidney only works at 20%.Freaked out but thankful for support on 7 Cups. Started getting help offline to set up appointments and transportation, which helped a lot since I used to avoid asking for help.

Aww, happy Kitty birthday! That's awesome!

You're really stepping up and opening up more about your feelings, which is super cool. Plus, sticking with those accountability huddles for healthy living goals at Cups-that's a big deal too. Keep it up-you've got this!

It's tough dealing with mental health stigmas. Sorry you had to face that stuff. You know, when people act like you're not really there because of yuor struggles-it's messed up. But it's great that folks are pushing back against all those negative attitudes.

Feeling heard and supported at Cups during some rough weeks is pretty amazing. Setting appointments, getting rides, asking for help-kudos to you for handling everything in such a healthy way. Keep rockin' it!

And thanks so much for checking in with us and keeping everyone updated on your progress. We're all rooting for you!

I get that this has been going on for a while now...Having your body not cooperate is super frustrating and can really bring you down. It's tough when you can't do the stuff that makes you happy.

Have you thought about trying physical therapy? Might just be what you need to help things out.

Restoration's going fine. Weekend was good, unexpected too. More time with my wife, exercise, doctor appts. Life outside work is chill. Exploring parks, meditating for clarity.
Work sucks though. Chatted with colleagues, mentors.Despite the grind and frustration, we care. Need to listen to my body, heart if staying or moving on makes sense. Salary's getting cut along with workload. Networking feels stifled. Hard to grwo like this. Balance is off. Some risks aren't wortth it. Mental health takes a hit with salary instability

Nice focus on peace and soul restoration.
Good weekend, sounds relaxing. Spent time with spouse, exercised, got stuff done.
What kind of exercise did you do?
Work stress sucks. Do what's best for you. Peace is worth it.
Hope you find your balance and peace.
Keep us updated.

Oh hey there! Thanks for reaching out-I really appreciate it. So, I've been dabbling with some light cardio stuff lately, along with a bit of stretching because honestly, my body needs that right now. And balance exercises too, mainly just to get better at standing on one foot or doing those tricky positions where you feel like you might wobble off balance any second. Anyway,it's all about feeling more stable and grounded while I'm moving around-kinda like making sure I don't fall over in the middle of a yoga pose or something!

This past week was cray. I finally rearranged my room. Moved my bed and study table around, and now it feels like triple the space!

Next up are some major entrance exams for college on May 26th. Can't wait to crush them.

Mental health stuff is really hitting home right now. You know that internalized stigma where you feel your problems aren't valid enough to ask for help? Honestly, I deal with it a lot. Like when people only seem to recognize extreme struggles and just brush off things like burnout or anxiety as "laziness" or "excuses." It's super frustrating.

Imagine someone drowning in 10 fete of water versus another person in 20 feet-both are in danger, no matter the depth! We all have different thresholds and ways of coping. There's no way to measure who's struggling more because empathy isn't limited like that. If we try to rank pain or struggle, it just makes people feel unsafe about sharing what they're going through.

For anyone hitting the bach this weekend (unlike me,I'm too busy with exams ), remember sunscreen!

This week had its ups and downs but my highlight was realizing it's okay not to bounce back right away. Being human means sometimes you need a moment. Ping pong balls can't relate because they don't have feelings.

Saying no or standing up for myself in spaces where I'm ignored? Really draining, man. And laughing it off is great until it turns into self-deprecation.

Lastly (I promise this is my last bit), taking care of your mental energy is a real thing. You can't keep withdrawing without putting something back in eventually you'll hit zero!

Hey~ I hope everything's going great!

I'm so glad you got organized around your room-totally helps clear the mind and makes us feel good inside and out! It's amazing how much better we feel when our spaces are tidy, right? You're rocking it there!

Good luck with those last entrance exams-everyone here is pulling for you!

It sounds like you've put a lot of thought into mental health stigmas adn have personally dealt with tehm. I'm sure coming to your realizations has been so important for you,and you made some really insightful points too!

Oh wow, sunscreen-that's something that easily gets forgotten, isn't it? Kudos to you for bringing it up! 🧴

Even tho things might have been tough this week, I'm really impressed with your "highlight" of not being so hard on yourself. We're all our own worst critics sometimes, but giving ourselves a break can make such a differrence! You did great!

Thanks for sharing everything and checking in with us about your week. Please keep letting us know how things are going, especially after your exams. I'm curious to haer how it all went!

This month, I'm super stoked about a week off. No exotic plans-just chilling and joining in on some family fun. And hey, maybe I'll even squeeze in a bit of kayaking!

On another note, the leadership at work is killing me softly with those backhanded compliments and micromanagement vibes. To stay sane, I'm setting tiny goals each week to keep my sanity intact.

This week, I aimed to cook more meals from scratch and actually leave on time, whether there was unfinished business or not. I nailed it for all but one day on the cooking front, and mostly hit the leaving-on-time mark too. Next week, it's full throttle-time to get those goals locked down!
