Struggling With Porn Addiction

CrispStar633G

Hey there, I'm 17 and I've been watching porn since around when I was 11 or so. It's kind of gotten out of hand lately-I feel like it's turning into more of an addiction than just a casual thing anymore. Anyone else, especially folks who are older, had something similar? Any tips you can share would be super appreciated.

Same here, man. Got exposed to porn when I was 11 by my buddy, and now it's been eight years of dealing with this mess. Used to watch it all the time till I hit 16-then discovered masturbation for three years straight. Now at 19, it's been a year since I've really tried to stop. I'm such an introvert; no social life here, just me and the quiet. It's tough avoiding that dopamine rush from porn. My longest clean streak was 20 days-I'm down to one day now as I type this. But hey, things are getting better! Usually, avoiding it altogether or doing other stuff helps a lot. Fake it till you make it-that's what they say-and it really does work sometimes.

Bro, honestly, we're in the same boat here. I got into all of this wen I was around 14 thanks to my cousin, and then I started masterbating at 17. it's been three years since then, and for two straight years, I didn't think about stopping at all. I was just having fun, exploring every genre out there, trying to find what tickled my fancy. Being an introvert made it easy to indulge myself because I mostly hung out alone.

But last year, man, I started seeing the consequences of this whole thing and it's been half a year of real struggle trying to stop. I managed to cut back on porn, but that just led me down other rabbit holes-playing video games, reading hentai, you name it. And lately, even trying not to cum during all those sessions has only brought up more issues. Anyway, hre we are, both trying to figure this out.

same here dude. got into it around 14 when my cuz showed me stuff. started masterbating at 17, been going on 3 yrs now. first 2yrs i was like whatevs, just trying out all sorts of stuff and seeing what i liked. introvert af so it was easy to do by myself. but last year, saw the downsides for rly. started cutting back a bit but that led to playing more games and reading hentai. recently tired not ejacting too hoing for change but that only made things worse.

Addiction screws you over if you don't break it. Guides exist online. Takes time, silp-ups happen, start again. Also, figure out what you're running from-loneliness, emptiness-and find healthier ways to deal with that stuff.

Consider joining a support group in your area. Many people around your age are dealing with similar issues. Ten years ago, when I began attending these meetings, the average age was about fifty; nowadays, it's likely closer to thirty.

ikr? kinda rlly common for teens to go thru a porn pahse. like it starts off as curiosity & stuff but yeah it can turn into an issue if u dont watch urself. i was there too, watched way too much growing up and even stole my dad's stuff b/c that's all there was back then. tbh i feel lucky i didnt get addicted. these days with the internet it's so esay to fall in but it shouldnt take over your life if u stay on top of it. really hope ppl find ways to keep it under control, feles bad when ur sucked into it too deep

Well, in my case, once I made up my mind to stop watching porn,I've pretty much stuck to it. But honestly, every so often-like maybe a couple times a year-I end up slipping for one day and thinking it's no big deal. The tricky thing is that there isn't really any solid research saying it's bad for you, which makes it feel like a gray area sometimes. I mainly try to avoid it because the OCD side of me starts feaking out, worrying that I've done myself some kind of damage, but in reality, there's jsut not enough good science to back up those claims. There are a few urologists and porn researchers on YouTube who talk about these myths, pointing out that most of whta u see online isn't really backed by facts. So take everything I say with a grain of salt-I'm just passing along what I've picked up here and there.
